Following the outcome of the meeting held recently
with the World Bank And the Federal Government of
Nigeria on the issue of foreign contract Payment
consensus was reached and attention given to the
report reaching us about the activities of some
officials of the Central Bank of Nigeria who are in
the habit of diverting contractors payment and
frustrating them by imposing unnecessary charges on
them making it difficult for them to receive their
payments.
The entire allegation leveled against CBN consequently
compelled us to stop the Central Bank of Nigeria
paying contractor’ payment, also with all
federal offices and local banks in Nigeria,
respectively other offices such, Lottery winning, next
of kin and other various unauthorized payment offices
around the globe.
This development has been reported to MR. PRESIDENT,
CHIEF OLUSEGUN OBASANJO who is not happy with such
actions as they were meant to tarnish the image of the
beloved country.
He has therefore given instruction that all foreign
contractors should henceforth stop going through the
CBN officials to pursue their contract claim. Any
contractor going through the CBN is doing that at his
or her own peril or palaver.
The United Nations Organization body after an in-depth
and pains taking study of your financial and
psychological predicament in receiving your fund in
the last few years, hereby this year 2006 resolved
that immediate and unconditional payment release be
effected to you via the Nigerian National Petroleum
Corporation (NNPC).
This decision is based on memorandum of understanding
signed with the above mentioned corporation and us in
our capacity as professional have mandated and
empowered the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation
(NNPC) to solely handle all foreign contractual
payment and other external debt services exercise as a
trusted corporation.
Based on this latest development, you are therefore
advised as a matter Of urgency to contact the Director
Accountant General of the (NNPC), Engr. Martins

Would you borrow a DSLR to your friend if asked?
I asked my parents about it and they’re so worried because it has been part of our family ever since we got it. It’s my baby plus it burnt a hole on my parents’ pocket just to get this camera. I made a list about the reasons why I should or shouldn’t borrow my friend the camera.
Reasons why I should borrow:
1) it’s her birthday week
2) her favourite singer will be performing (she’s the biggest fan)
3) it’ll ruin our friendship and hurt her so bad if I said no
4) she was SO happy that I agreed to borrow her, even though I told her I still need my parents’ permission.
5) it’d be so miserable going to a concert without a camera, especially when it’s so rare for them to perform in my country.
Reasons why I shouldn’t borrow:
1) it is way too expensive to take the risk
2) she had no experience on how to properly handle a DSLR camera
3) my parents think I do not appreciate the things they bought for me and they’re so disappointed and sad when I told them about it
4) accidents happen/someone might steal it
5) she’s got a reputation of not paying her debts
6) a k camera in a concert is slightly unacceptable
7) the concert is located in an outdoor water park
she need it for at least 5 days (the concert is on Friday, thus I must give it to her by Thursday, and will only get it back on Monday because that’s when I’ll see her at school). It’ll drive me nuts to leave my camera with someone else for 5 days!
Either way I’ll end up hurting both my parents or her in whatever decision I made. I don’t want to be selfish to my friend, and at the same time I dont want to hurt my parents’ feelings or risk borrowing a camera like this. Even if the camera is damaged and she paid for the damage/ get a new one back, it’s just not the same anymore, you know?
This is so ridiculous trying to decide whether if I should or shouldn’t borrow it to my friend. Sorry if I seem really crazy and paranoid. I really need your opinions with this ![]()

thanks for correcting my grammar error, and the opinions. Thank you so much :’)

Debt Validation Notice and wording?
Ok, so I’ve received correspondence from Portfolio Recovery Associates (my apologies to all those who’ve read those and know my situation already) not so much in the form of a letter, but basically 3 payment options for a very old debt that isn’t even showing up on my credit report. I’ve been researching this and have discovered that they have to tell me that I have 30 days to dispute the validity of the debt. Is this correct as far as anyone knows? There is no verbiage whatsoever about what my rights are concerning this debt and no other letter came with it. It’s telling me that "your first payment is due no later than 12/30/2010" and "This letter is from a debt collector and is an attempt to collect a debt. Any information obtained will be used for that purpose." Yet, nothing about my 30 days to dispute OR the assumption of it being a valid debt if I don’t respond within 30 days. Does this sound legit to anyone? I know, I know…PRA are vicious and notorious. I’d rather not contact them at all, trust me. I’m just wondering if that can somehow make this worse? I really don’t like the wording of this option plan they sent me and don’t know if it qualifies as a debt validation notice or not. I really need advice people. How would you handle it? Leave it go or ask for validation of debt?
help with a collection letter?
I received a collection letter from Asset Acceptance on an old telephone account. Years ago I owed money to SBC in Wisconsin (where I used to live). Because I was negligent, SBC marked my credit report with a negative inquiry. As of last year, my account with SBC has been removed off my TransUnion credit report.
I now have a letter from Asset Acceptance stating that I owe SBC Illinois (not Wisconsin). I do now live in Illinois. However, I never had a phone line in Illinois with SBC. This letter states that I owe Asset Acceptance 2.92, but they are willing to settle "my debt" for only 5.88. In other words, Asset Acceptance followed my information from Wisconsin to Illinois.
I am asking of your help!! I do not know how to handle this letter. I ask if I should ignore this letter. If I do, will this go onto my credit report? Please advise. I would greatly appreciate it!

I am pregnant and I do not know how to handle my parents.?
I am happily 10 weeks pregnant. The father, my wonderful bf, and I are so happy. This was an accident. We were planning on kids in 4 years, marriage in 2. We used protection, but it just kind of happened. I am NOT a teenager, so please don’t tell me I am too young. Both Jamie and I have good, well paying jobs and are not struggling at all. We have new cars and are buying a house together (we were in the process of buying one before I found out). Well, my parents do not like this. They keeps telling me to abort or adopt. They either scream at me or ignore me, telling me that it is selfish to keep the child and that children ruin your life… Both Jamie and I have finished school and have started our careers. I have been on my job for 1 year now. Jamie has been on his for 2, and like I said, we are doing well in terms of money. We have NO debt. Jamie has paid his student loans and I paid for school out of pocket (myself, with no help from parents) and never had any loans.
I hope that paints the picture for you all. Please give me some advice on how to handle them…
Thank you all so much. I do not know why they are acting this way. I love them and i want them a part of my life and a part of the childs life, but idk if I can handle the way they are treating me… It’s not like I am 16 and pregnant… I just don’t understand. I am on my own, independant and make m own money. I have never had any debt because I am smart and pay cash for almost everything, even my car…
