Pay off Debt: Highest Interest or Smallest Amount?
Youapos;ve got a little extra money and want to destroy some debt. But which should you pay off first – the smallest debt, or the one with the highest interest rate?
What happens if you don't pay debt, collection agency calls?
My sister has a debt from the doctor’s office for 0. It’s for a follow up visit that the doctor initially said was free, then he decided to mail us the bill. We called to try to talk to him to see what’s up but the doctor’s office hanged up on us. So my sister called up a lawyer to ask for advice and they said since the doctor said it was free and THEN decided to charge us w/out letting us know, we shouldn’t have to pay for it.
But now they’ve sent the bill over to collection agency which has been calling my sister. So what happens if we don’t pay them? Would there be interest or bad credit score type of thing?
Thanks guys!

What can I do about my credit?
I just turned 20, and I have a lot of debt because I was homeless for awhile after high school. I used to have really good credit, but it has suffered lately. I had a Sprint bill go to collections because I was homeless and had no job, but it is paid in full. I now have a Verizon bill that has gone to collections, but for a different reason. I refuse to pay it because they refuse to tell me why I owe so much. When I disconnected service with them, I owed 0(early termination included in that amount) and now they are saying I owe 00 and can’t tell me why. I also had a JCPenney card that isnt in collections but is behind. I am paying back my student loans slowly, but I am a little behind. Also, I just got evicted from my apartment because my door was kicked down and all my stuff stolen and I got a noise complaint and a complaint of police activity. I plan to fight that one in court, but they will report badly on my credit. I wanted to get a debt consolidation loan, but bad credit and all I own is my car, which isn’t worth enough to use as colateral. Good things about my credit are I have never missed a payment on my current cell bill, my cable bill, my utilities or my rent anywhere I have ever lived. My problem is I really need a cheap second car because my fiancee and I are sharing one and I am going to lose my AWESOME job because I am late every day because of our conflicting schedules. Also, I am in a rent to own agreement with my current landlord, who is going to pay my downpayment to own the house I am living in after 12 months, but I am afraid I can’t get the loan. How can I improve my credit? How bad is my credit? What can I do about the Verizon charges and my eviction? Is there a way to dispute them? I paid my apartment for the time I lived there, but I will NOT pay them for breaking the lease because I didn’t. I will pay Vezion what I owe them but I won’t give them money they can’t prove I owe them. I don’t mind to pay my debts, but I am not paying people trying to take advantage of me. Is there anyplace that will give me a loan to consolidate these debts so I can start making a single monthly payment? Is there any place that will give me a car loan? HELP!!!!!
I live in New Zealand, Is it possible to get a (legitimate) loan from another country?
I live in NZ, and am having trouble getting a loan as I went under the No Asset Procedure (lighter form of bankruptcy). I was discharged from the NAP august 2009. However I am in need of a debt consolidation urgently. I do have the means to service the loan,(just not enough to pay all my bills upfront.) but I do not have any security or guarantor aswell as the bad credit end of it. I have tried almost everybody in NZ but had no luck.. Do you know If there are any companies in another country who could help?
please no scam loans who get you to fill out the paperwork then expect money upfront, I am Desperate but I am by no means stupid!
thanks
and do any of you people (besides madman) require a western union or bank transfer fee before I get to see any loan money….. this screams SCAM! did you not read the above info?
How long should I wait after paying off a bunch of debts I had in collection to buy a house?
I have really bad credit and, I recently paid off a bunch of old and, recent debt I had in collections and, existing active accounts. I know my credit won’t improve over night after paying off my debt and, I have been told even after being paid off, debts that went to collections still reflect poorly on ones credit report which results in low credit scores.
How long should I wait before attempting to buy a house?
