If a person has a lot of unsecured debt that has been charged off by the lenders and the person is not eligible for Chapter 7, should they file Chapter 13? What are the benefits of filing Chapter 13 in this situation? Thanks!

I want to get this Harley Davidson on a payment plan, but also to rebuild my credit rating. Can I go out now right after my recent Chapter 7 discharge of Debts and purchase this motorcycle. Will I get into any trouble with the Court, trustee or the creditors. Am I allowed to do this or I have to wait a while before I make any major purchases.

Chapter 7 personal bankruptcy 1994. Was discharged 1995. Can I assume that I am no longer liable for debts included in the bankruptcy?

The payments would be more than what i pay out now for keeping up my credit but have 6 accounts in collection status. I have a new car, i may have to give that back to make payments to ccc services thus getting a repro on my record. Chapter 13 appears on my record for 7 years but i could manage to keep the car and i worry about problems down the road keeping up with the plan. The lawyer says he does not know at this point whether the plan will be 3yr or 5 until he looks at my total situation in more depth. Its a close call between the two. Chapter 7 is out because i dont want to risk losing my home due to equity accumulation.

I get letters from creditors offering to settle my debts for a lower amount. I owe about ,000. Some debts have been charged off and I don’t know who to contact now. Doesn’t it still hurt your credit to pay off the debts anyways? Isn’t Chapter 7 just easier? Please help from anyone who has gone through Chapter 7. Thanks!
