I have several credit cards, all of which are overdue in payments. I joined a consolidation company, but they were charging me a lot of money for their services, and so I discontinued the plan. I owed 2,900 on one card and managed to settle out over six months for 1,033 dollars. However, the second card company (who has received the same erratic payments as the first) has sent my debt to a lawyer. I owe them 3,300 and made my last payment at the end of April. However, when I called the law firm, it seemed sort of shady (for instance, they thought my last name was Miss, not that Miss was the prefix, and their grammar was horrible). I’m not actually convinced that is an actual law firm and not a scare tactic to force me to pay off my entire sum. Please know that I am trying to work with these companies…I am a full time student with a full time job and I can only do so much. Does anyone know what the odds are that they actually are a law firm or if they will actually take me to court?

I am interested in consolidating my debt. Does anyone have any experience with this consolidation company, and if so, please share! Pros and cons, did this help or hurt your situation/future? Thanks!

When you consolidate debt, it shows all old debts as being paid, etc, but the one new debt ratio, which is the amount being owed to the consolidation company will be huge. QUESTION: Does It lower the credit score to have a huge debt ratio like this?
OTHER QUESTION: and you also want to have say, 3 credit cards, (3 of them is the number you want to have a good credit profile, right), then the debt consolidation companies close your credit cards or do they not? How does it work

I have about 6000 dollars in credit card debt and high intrest rates, does anyone know of a good credit card consolidation company? One that does not charge huge fees? I know there would be some fee’s for this service, just need some good advice please help!

I am trying to hunt down a well trusted debt collection consolidation company. The type where they run all 3 of your credit scores to see who you owe, & consolidate it into one lump sum for an afforable monthly payment. I have heard of many of them being scams, people "paying off their debt" and not actually paying it just paying the company money that supposedly consolidated it. Which in case sickens me that people can sleep at night knowing they screw over all of their customers. Anyways, if anyone knows of a real, scam free debt consildation service it would be much appreciated.
