Getting a Mortgage With Bad Credit?
Are there legitimate places to get a mortgage with marginal credit? I have some charge offs on my credit report from 5 years ago. I had a major health problem and used a credit consolidation service to assist me with some CC debt. It was a bad idea I know now. But I’d like to buy a house. I have above average income, so I don’t think I would qualify for a FHA loan. Does anyone know what the limit is on qualifying?
How should I consolidate my debt?
I have one old deparment store credit card with a balance of 425( they have offered me a settlement of 265). A credit card with a 420 balance and one with a balance of 900.
All are in collections , but if things keep going as well as they have I would be able to pay them all off.
But should I use a consolidation service or just deal with each creditor individually …
Note : Im not going to buy a house a car or rent a new place soon( for at least the next 6,7 years, aside from maybe a new apartment), so how important is fixing my credit now.
What is the best way to pay off my credit card debt?
I have less than ,000 in credit card debt, but it kind of has me in a bind. It seems I’m only paying off the interest while the actual balance never goes down. I applied online for a personal loan, but was rejected. I was thinking of maybe using a credit consolidation service to help me out. What ones are reputable? Which ones have you personally used and what were your thoughts on them? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Debt Consolidation or Do it yourself?
I am going thru a divorce right now and have had a lot of problems with money. I am about 3-4 payments behind on my credit cards. I am just not starting to get back on my feet financially. I have about 3 credit cards to pay on. One I could pay off myself in a few months, the other one by the end of the year. But my biggest credit card would take me years. I hate to ruin my credit because it has been fairly good. I have always made atleast the minimum payment. My question is, should I just call them and try to catch up and continue the minimum payments and slowly pay them off? OR Should I use a debt/credit consolidation service? Keep in mind credit is very much a concern even tho yes I realize I have probably hurt it a little already, but that was something I had no control over.
