are there laws in the Philippines concerning debts?
i’ve been researching on this topic and obviously, a lot of Filipinos are under a lot of debts. because they like to just spend and spend not thinking of how will are they going to pay for it(credit cards or borrowing money from others)
is there any laws that, like, if a one has a debt, and cannot pay for it, will he get jailed for it?
are there any punishments? and how does the government deal with debtors? and what will happen to non-paying debts people?

Legal action over late credit card payments?
I have several credit cards, all of which are overdue in payments. I joined a consolidation company, but they were charging me a lot of money for their services, and so I discontinued the plan. I owed 2,900 on one card and managed to settle out over six months for 1,033 dollars. However, the second card company (who has received the same erratic payments as the first) has sent my debt to a lawyer. I owe them 3,300 and made my last payment at the end of April. However, when I called the law firm, it seemed sort of shady (for instance, they thought my last name was Miss, not that Miss was the prefix, and their grammar was horrible). I’m not actually convinced that is an actual law firm and not a scare tactic to force me to pay off my entire sum. Please know that I am trying to work with these companies…I am a full time student with a full time job and I can only do so much. Does anyone know what the odds are that they actually are a law firm or if they will actually take me to court?
Are there really government assisted debt consolidation services available to the public?
My step-mother is a disabled vet, with a massive amount of credit card debt left over from my father passing away. She’s simply doesn’t have enough income from VA disability to pay for all the debt and has been waiting for almost 2 years to get her first Social Security hearing, which still isn’t until next month.
She doesn’t want to claim bankruptcy, she simply wants to consolidate a few credit cards and a small home equity loan into a single low interest account she can make large payments on. I believe in total, she has about 20k dollars worth of debt between all the accounts and is paying just over the minimum payments about 0 a month. She’s not really making progress with the current state of things.
Most of the debt consolidation sites seem to simply be bankruptcy attorneys, which is obviously not what she’s looking for.
We are in the Texas, so any state programs, federal programs or anything the VA might offer would be great. I’m looking for a non-profit or social service that can assist her, not just an attorney out to make some money off people who are already struggling.

How worried should I be about a credit check? I am a new grad who has terrible credit from too much credit?
So I recently graduates from college with a bachelors in engineering from a great school. During my sophomore and freshman year I got a bunch of credit cards, used them all up and never paid them. Today, I have a credit school of 490 and a bunch of negative marks and 2 judgements on my credit. I just hired a debt consolidation company to help me to manage (not expunge because I want to take full responsibility for this foolish error) my debt and get it back in order. It is about 30,000 in debt. My big dilemma is that I just got a job offer from a major utiliy company in Minnesota and I am horrified that my job offer will be rescinded despite my excellent degree and background because of the mistakes of my youth. Am I being paranoid or realistic? I have spent years cultivating my background ot make myself the ideal candidate in every other way. I have spent time overseas learning new languages, lots of technical jobs, held leadership positions and founded community service organization and I feel like if I am turned down because of my credit, then my degree is worthless and I might as well work at McDonalds. I do not feel I am entitled to a job or a hig hsalary or anything because I went to college but how am I ever supposed to fix this issue if no one will hire me to make enough money to fix my credit?
The job offer has not be rescinded but I am worried it could be because of my poor credit. I was up front about it and explained my background to the hiring manager but he said he is not that worried about it and the ywould really like to have me
The company I hired was a debt management firm they basically just call the creditors to negotiate down my debt and then agree to a a certain monthly payment for each. I did not get a loan because I have heard they are a bad idea. I just wish I was smarter earlier own but it wasnt until the end of my college career than I started to understand credit cards and debt which was my fault. I want to pay off the debt because I feel so guilty about not paying these people their money when I know I owe them
Yes, I have a college degree and while engineers are historically bad at english and grammar, I was not really worrying about spelling mistakes when I typed this

Debt Denial Revisited (Soldier of Finance.com)
soldieroffinance.com Welcome back to soldieroffinance.com. I want to take a quick minute and revisit an older video that I did. The name of that video was called, “You Don’t Have That Much Debt. Really?” The reason I want to revisit that is because I came across another situation of a couple that felt they were prepare financially for retirement. They told me that they had decent pensions, which they did, and they said they had all their debt pretty well under control. As I started to dig a little bit, I came to find out- remember these folks were about 5-6 years from retirement- they had over 0000 of mortgage debt. They had two car notes and they had about 000 of credit card debt. I am trying to figure out, how can you sit here and tell me you have a handle on your consumer debt when you have almost over 0000 of debt. Listen! That is not having your debt under control. Stop being in denial. I am talking not just to that couple because I know that they are most likely the majority of most people out there that are just accepting the notion that it is okay to have a lot of debt, and I am sure compared to the next door neighbor they are probably not that bad. Listen, just because your next door neighbor isn’t in debt up to their eyeballs, that doesn’t mean it is okay for you to be. Stop kidding yourselves. Make a point to really look and analyze your situation and say hey, if you have two car notes and you have credit card debt and you have mortgage and you have a …
Debt Consolidation?
Hello, if your not behind in any of your credit cards and you just want to do debt consolidation because you have so many…How long does it report on your credit that you are in a debt consolidation program??
I have one more unemployment check and I can’t find a job!?
I have a 0 car payment and a 2 a month comittment with a debt consolidation company to pay 4 credit cards over the next 3 yrs. I’ve filled out job applications but I’m not getting called back. I joined a temp service but they say its slow and no work available. I don’t know what to do. I heard you can get a lawyer or an accountant to write a "hardship letter" to creditors. Is this true? Does it work? But what do I do about the debt consolidation company?? You can’t get blood from a stone. I don’t want to go bankrupt in case I buy a house in the future. What can I do?
I’ve tried to look for christmas help but no one is hiring… its sad. I walked the whole mall looking for a help wanted sign. NOT ONE.
Thanx Dale, yeah I kinda figured it is/might be a scam, I just ignored his comments about the get rich idea.
