How do I start paying down the debts on my credit reports?

I want to start paying down the debts on my credit reports. I am getting ready to order all 3 reports. I want to look them over and see what needs to be paid. I am not sure how to go about paying them. Will paying them off get my credit good again? And, if I pay them, will they be deleted from my credit reports? I am in a position now where I may soon need decent credit. And I have a bankruptcy I filed in 2004 which will roll off next year, finally. I don’t want to go through a debt consolidation service because the debts are for minimal amounts like 5.00 and .00, etc. and, I have no credit card debt because I can’t get a credit card. It will take longer do it that way, too and it’ll cost more in the long run. I think it’s better for me just to pay each one separately. How would I go about starting to do this?

I need some GOOD financial advice!?

I just pulled our credit reports and I have a few questions!!!

1. If my husband is the only one employed should he be the only one on the mortgage (when we apply)

2. My husband is 8,000 in debt. 16,000 if you include his truck. But we make monthly payments of 340.00. It will be payed off in January 2011. I do not work and we have set up our accounts and everything to be debt free (aside from the truck) by the end of the year! He makes 47,000 a year not including overtime. I know it will be hard but we need to do this! Will we be able to be approved for a home loan when we don’t have this debt or should we wait a while?

3. I would like to do 100% financing. Is this a bad choice?

We are only 20 and 21. So we have a while right?

Thanks :o )
