Does anyone know of any legitimate high risk lenders?
I need a personal loan to consolidate my credit card debt. I ran a lot of them up on medical bills, I’ve made good on my payments the last three years or so. My credit is slowly rising because of this, but the poor choices of my foolish youth drag my credit score down. I am at my wits end, I’ve tried many big name lenders, but with no avail, I am becoming really stressed over this. I do not want to go into debt consolidation, I have a steady income (I work for the Social Services). I just am tired of throwing money away on high interest rates on from my credit card providers (some are as high as 30%!!!!). I’ve been contacted by Parkwood Lending Group…they want me to secure my loan with a six month payment advance. I think that sounds fishy and as far as I have researched, I haven’t found any good info on them at all. I don’t know what to do. Help? FYI, payday loans are a no-no. They charge incredible fees, it should be illegal.
I want to consolidate my credit cards?
I have about ,000 in unsecured debt from credit cards. I plan to pay two off soon, but that still leaves about ,000. I am paying the minimums and have a good credit score (730), but my interest is so high I’ll never pay it off.
My first thought was to go to consumer credit counseling services but since I am not delinquent I don’t want to negatively affect my credit at this point. So, I thought I would go to my bank and get a loan to consolidate. Should I go for a personal loan or a consolidation loan (my bank is Chase)?
Also, two of the credit cards I carry are Chase credit cards, will this hurt my chances of getting a loan? Any help will be appreciated!! I am willing to cut corners, make some extra money etc. to pay off as much as I can. I have cut up my credit cards and not used any for over a year but I am still overwhelmed. Help please!
I am currently paying about 0 a month just minimums, interests rates all around 20%. If I can pay any less than this a month at lower interest it will help no?
How long does it take for your credit score to recover once you've paid off your debts?
I’m in a lot of debt right now but should be completely out within 2 years. Once the debts are cleared, how long til my credit score is back up to a high level (say 750+)?. Thanks.
Advice on debt consolidation, not sure if it's worth it?
I had about ,000 in various credit card/credit account debts that I tried to help pay off with a debt consolidation company (Preferred Financial Services). They’ve agreed to negotiate with my credit accounts and pay off the amounts owed, then I pay them off; they’ve been charging me 1 a month for 3 months. But all the creditors still call me throughout the day.
The Preferred Financial Services company said it can take several months before the creditors stop calling (I interpreted this as, before they even start dealing with the creditors), but I’m beginning to wonder if it would even be worth it to use this debt consolidation service. My house has been foreclosed and I know my credit score will be a huge wreck until that ages off; is it even worth it to try to use this debt consolidation at this point? I barely have enough money to pay rent and utilities as it is, and want to make a choice that makes the most sense.
Thank you in advance for the advice
Pay off collections or let them fall off?
I have a few questions about credit reports and how to handle certain blemishes.
The first situation is that I have two collection accounts with a combined total of 2. One is from 07 and the other from 08. Should I go ahead and pay these off? Should I send a debt validation letter? Or should I just ignore them? My husband and I would like to purchase a home next summer and I want my credit score up as much as possible, but I have heard that paying off the debts can actually hurt your credit because the "date reported" date changes to a a current date. Is this true?
The second situation is what I believe to be a duplicate account listed on both mine and my husband’s credit report. It is from an account that was included in our Chapter 13 bankruptcy. There is a listing from the original creditor and then a seperate listing for what I assume is a collection agency called MBC INV for the same amount that was first reported 9/30/09 – two month before our bankruptcy was discharged. Is this legal? To send an account that is included in a bankruptcy to a collection agency? Can I get rid of this account?
Thanks in advance!
I need the names of some trustworthy companies that offer Debt Management Plans?
I will not qualify for government grants. I cannot get another consolidation loan.
I do not want to use a debt negotiation service.
My credit is good right now. I have paid all my bills at or above the minimum on time for over 7 years, and any blips on my credit have just recently "dropped off" my credit report.
However, I am struggling, and things are about to get worse for me, and very soon I will start to be in the negative.
I need help that won’t ruin my credit score I have worked so hard to repair.
If you have used a Debt Management Program and did not have to pay any additional fees, nor make any payments until all of your creditors accepted you into the program, please pass the name along to me.
How can you handle a medical debt?
I had surgery about a two months ago on my arm. My husband’s health insurance has high deductibles and left us with a bill of over 00. The surgery was an outpatient procedure which was very expensive for a minor one. However, the follow-up care cost the most.
My husband and I are currently in an open chapter 13 bankruptcy. So our available cash is limited for bills. We are almost out of bankruptcy within the next year. Living on almost a third of your available net income has been a challenge but we tightened our belts after the first year by getting a less expensive rental, cutting out unnecessary items. Our car that we had when we filed went bad and we had to purchase a newer vehicle. So any extra money is now tied up in a monthly car payment.
The billing office of the hospital where I had the surgery has been hounding me for a payment or payment arrangement. I tried to explain that we are in a bankruptcy at the moment and would try at least something every month to pay the bill. We had registration renewal and a driver license renewal this month at the cost of almost 0. It’s not much but is hurts when money is tight anyhow.
I’m willing to pay the bill, but medical care costs are ridiculous in this country. My sister had major surgery over 20 years ago and it only cost 00. She had to have rods put into her foot after shattering her ankle. My mom didn’t have to pay hardly any deductibles. My husband just had
a heart monitor done and it cost 00! I did manage to get his hospital to make payment arrangements to pay a month until after we are discharged from the bankruptcy then pay for the co-pay in full afterwards. Our credit score is getting in the good range and we want to be able to rent a nice apartment within a year. Getting a collection on my part might hurt our chances of getting a new place. Why are medical collectors so greedy? They made over 10K from my husband’s insurance. I am not working at the moment. Let them try to sue me. You can’t get blood from a turnip. Just frustrated. Thanks.
Fixing Bad Credit…That's not your Fault?
I’m 22 and I have a credit score of 578. There are some negatives accounts and only 1 positive account on my credit report. I first discovered this when I was 19, when I tried to get a small loan for tuition. Since then, I have been trying to get everything straighten out by talking with the people I supposely owed and NOTHING!! I would like to know is there anything I can do to repair my credit, so I’m able to qualify for a loan to buy a house. How did I get BAD CREDIT so young?? Well, I found out it first started when I was away in college. My sister (37 yrs old), got cable in my name and didn’t pay. It went to collection! She got phone & internet in my name, didn’t pay, and it went to collection! Also, she got a cato card in my name, used it and didn’t pay, and it also ended up in collection. And, an uncle got cable in my name, didn’t pay, and it went to collection! I think, my sister could have gotten all my information because truthfully I did stay with her for a year before I went off to college. As, for as my uncle he is suffering from M.S. and he does do reckless and crazy things. I spoke to my sister about this after finding out, and her response is every response in the book. She has had jobs, been involved in scams, and etc..But, has no desire to pay these collectors. I don’t want to take my sister to court but I don’t want to pay off things on my credit report that I didn’t get. At the moment, my parents are in debt because of my sister. She has gotten credit cards in my mother name and cable also. And, she hasn’t made a payment on a ,000.00 loan my dad got for her years ago. She has screwed our parents and even me! My dad says he can’t help me out, because my sister has made it harder for the rest of the siblings. So, I’m trying my best but I’ve been told it’s impossible, if I don’t take out papers on my sister for identity theft. I would do it, but my family is already broken up because of how she screwed my parents. I don’t wanna make it worser but I don’t want bad credit. My fiance and I, won’t to buy a home and get married in the future. But, our credit is holding us back! I have bad credit and he doesn’t have any credit at all! He would get a loan, but he’s never have anything and there are no loans for starters! Does anyone have any suggestions, as to what I can do?? I tried, talking to the collectors..Showing them proof and etc..That I was actually living somewhere else when this all happen..But, nothing!!! Again, I’m 22 and I’m pursing a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. I have a steady income and so does my fiance. Our bills (electric, cable, phone, internet, water, rent, car) are never late but ulities bills are not reported…So, those cannot be used in our favor! We are not able to obtain a small loan, mortage or a credit card, or etc…How can I prepare for my future if this is not handle!! Suggestions??
Also, the main reasons I don’t want to file charges against my sister..Is because she has already been convicted of a felony…She has served time *years* for drugs, drugs, and drugs. She has gotten busted over and over! When it comes to money, I see now she can be obsessed! At the moment, she is on probation again for drugs! Me and my parents, are trying our best to do what we can without purposely sending her back to prison for her children sake (the same kids my mom has raised)! But, if that’s what it takes to get us straight then it will need to be done….
how to promote a website like this.?
When we moved to Florida my wife and I have accumulated terrible credit card debt from trying to take care of our family. With rent, clothing, diapers, food…we just buried ourselves. Now that we are established we just can’t get rid of our debt. No consolidation services will approve us due to our credit score. So I made a website, pleading for even the smallest donation. In turn I will donate 10% of every contribution to a noble charity. How and where should I promote my site? I only have one year to get this out there and I have a lot of debt. Is there a mass way of getting it out there fast before we sink? The link is : www.pleaserescueus.com
Debt consolidation will leave you with a huge debt ratio, and close all your credit cards?
When you consolidate debt, it shows all old debts as being paid, etc, but the one new debt ratio, which is the amount being owed to the consolidation company will be huge. QUESTION: Does It lower the credit score to have a huge debt ratio like this?
OTHER QUESTION: and you also want to have say, 3 credit cards, (3 of them is the number you want to have a good credit profile, right), then the debt consolidation companies close your credit cards or do they not? How does it work
