how to handle bill collectors?

I got a call 6 months ago for a bill collector wanting 4609 for a credit card bill i abandon in 1997 after my divorce. This guy Martial Thompson was a real piece of work, i was like sorry it was 1997 don’t really remember the details. He told me he is going to light a fire under my pants. i hung up the phone i don’t deal with behavior like that. This Martial kept leaving messages, my son picked up the phone and Martial told him that he a law enforcement needs to talk to me. There was Martial giving me one last chance to settle this debt or else it will go to court-take your pay out of your check and will could find evidence for fraud then face jail time. Hung up the phone again. Well this week a deputy from the sheriffs department gave me a summons and complaint. I don’t want to pay this scum bag, this is not even on my credit report. They are giving me 20 days to respond

What to do when someone stole your identity and your being sued?

my hubby and I had our identities stolen. we did not know till we got a summoms to court for a third party debt collector lawsuit. i called them and found out that it was for an account we never heard of. it was from 2008. we have a rule no cash no buy. that is how we were taught. and thats how we are
and still living like that.

I know its fraud and i have a account thats not mine either. We do not have enough money for a attourney and legal aid is mimimal right now. should we pay the lawyer we have just enough to handle the case and then retain him for bankruptcy?

i do not know what to do. this is killing me inside and we have an idea who did it but we are not going to mention it due to recourse …it has happened before with harrasment and now it starting again and again.
please someonme please help.
the debt company is not licensed or affilaiated with the ftc or bbb. i did make a report with both and going to the police tommorrow. i just found out.

How do I get more visitors to my online sites and articles?

Hi- I desperately need to make money with my website and my online articles, as my husband has been able to find a job for a long time. We are deep in debt, not from wasteful spending, but from surviving as cheap as possible without losing our house or destroying our credit.

Does anyone have any online promotion places or ideas on how I can get folks to my homeschooling & free online games sites? They ARE on search engines.

Does anyone know marketing ideas for my online articles?
Google says I am unable to ask people to click on links, as it’s "click fraud," so I just need to get the word out.I won’t get paid for multiple clicks.

Thanks so much for any advice
