How worried should I be about a credit check? I am a new grad who has terrible credit from too much credit?

So I recently graduates from college with a bachelors in engineering from a great school. During my sophomore and freshman year I got a bunch of credit cards, used them all up and never paid them. Today, I have a credit school of 490 and a bunch of negative marks and 2 judgements on my credit. I just hired a debt consolidation company to help me to manage (not expunge because I want to take full responsibility for this foolish error) my debt and get it back in order. It is about 30,000 in debt. My big dilemma is that I just got a job offer from a major utiliy company in Minnesota and I am horrified that my job offer will be rescinded despite my excellent degree and background because of the mistakes of my youth. Am I being paranoid or realistic? I have spent years cultivating my background ot make myself the ideal candidate in every other way. I have spent time overseas learning new languages, lots of technical jobs, held leadership positions and founded community service organization and I feel like if I am turned down because of my credit, then my degree is worthless and I might as well work at McDonalds. I do not feel I am entitled to a job or a hig hsalary or anything because I went to college but how am I ever supposed to fix this issue if no one will hire me to make enough money to fix my credit?
The job offer has not be rescinded but I am worried it could be because of my poor credit. I was up front about it and explained my background to the hiring manager but he said he is not that worried about it and the ywould really like to have me
The company I hired was a debt management firm they basically just call the creditors to negotiate down my debt and then agree to a a certain monthly payment for each. I did not get a loan because I have heard they are a bad idea. I just wish I was smarter earlier own but it wasnt until the end of my college career than I started to understand credit cards and debt which was my fault. I want to pay off the debt because I feel so guilty about not paying these people their money when I know I owe them
Yes, I have a college degree and while engineers are historically bad at english and grammar, I was not really worrying about spelling mistakes when I typed this

Can I get a debt consolidation loan with bad credit?

I would like to get a debt consolidation loan for my outstanding debt from closed credit cards, old utility bills, etc

I have student loans, but I would like to consolidate them separatley and not through another loan.

Also, I have an auto loan, would the loan be able to cover that as well?

Please, real answers, and no opinions/judgements.

Thank You.

Has anyone ever dealt with (CCCS)credit counseling services? How bad is it for your credit?

I know these types of debt consolidation plans aren’t very good for your credit but my credit is completely shot and I have a fair amount of debt.Just how bad does it look on my credit? What about after the debts are all paid off?Are they trustworthy and legitimate?Do they do as they promise? What was your experience with them? Are there plans reasonable so quality of life doesn’t drop too badly?
How can I find out thier contact number in my area to meet them in person?I would prefer to work with them that way.
My credit report is full of charge offs and late payments,2 judgements and a bankruptcy from 2001.I’ve been a financial disaster for many years but have finally "grown up" and am ready to truly tackle and repair this mess. Many of my "bad" marks will be off in the next 2-3 years.I have a current car loan but no mortgage or active credit cards.I have several bounced checks in chex systems as well.I’m hoping to have a good enough rating to obtain a mortgage at a halfway decent interest rate within in the 3-4 years.

what happens to your credit score after your debts have been attached to your home?

My debt is unsecured. In my state my home can be attached. I am fine with that part…. my question is once it is attached to my home…. will the negative credit be marked as satisfied on my credit score so they wont be posting negative scores still monthly. Or do the judgements need to be paid off first and judgement satisfied????

Once the judgement is attached it can stay there as long as I don’t sell the home.

Can someone give me some advice about the judgement on my credit report?

I never had a credit card but wanted one . I applied at small department stores to get my first credit card but i was denied for insufficient credit . Being offered a free credit report i wanted to see what was on it. Everything was clear but it said i had a judgement of 8,000 dollars plantiff was the probation office I was entitled to pay restitution and signed a plan to pay 250 everythin month for 3 years but i paid everything off in just 6 months . How can they put a judgement on me when id id make my payment on time…i signed a form indicating i will pay every month..aren’t judgements given to those who don’t pay their debt or restitution. Do i have the right to dispute this ..Is this information on my credit inaccurate . I’m really concern now > I wanted to get my first credit card and start building credit to have a sucessfull future . I went from No credit To judgements on my credit .without ever having a credit card on my hand. please HELP.

Is there a way to repair your credit by sending registered letters denying the debts to the credit report cos.?

I have heard this often. That you can send registered letters denying the debts one by one to the three credit reporting bureaus and if they didn’t provide proof of the debts within 30 days or something that they had to remove the debts. Everything except judgements. Is this true? If so, how is it done exactly?
